“The Lost Key” is one of the unique historic places that the panhandle has to offer. Perdido Key can be found in Florida’s Northwest Panhandle, landing between Pensacola and Orange Beach, Alabama. What makes this location so historic? Perdido Key was found in 1693 by the Spanish, which gives its Spanish name literally meaning “The Lost Key”, which was one of the Gulf Coast Native American’s well-kept secret.  This made the Native Americans the first group to occupy this area in Florida.

Today, Perdido Key can be found home to many parks that are known around the world. You may have heard of Perdido Key State Park, Big Lagoon Sate Park and Johnson Beach at Gulf Islands National Seashore. Other than these infamous parks, this part of the panhandle has a lot more activities for modern day tourists to enjoy. Want to enjoy touring the waters that Perdido Key has to offer?  A unique way to do so is to check out Littleheads Kayak Rentals. They offer guided tours that let you explore the Grass Flats and Uninhabited Islands. Along with the tours, guests can enjoy a specific kayak that offers fishing. Maybe you want to stay on dry land for the day, then go ahead and book your Wine and Glide Segway Tour. It is a lovely evening Segway tour that can be paired up with a delicious wine tasting that takes place at Seville Quarter every Thursday and Friday night. Don’t forget about the little ones that are tagging along for the trip. Adventure Island offers go-carts, paddleboats, mini-golf, laser tag, simulator rides and more video games than any kid can imagine! Don’t forget to spend those beautiful days out at the beach and even out at sea. Perdido Key Parasail and Waverunners lets guests experience all that the ocean and and sea breeze has to offer. Giving you a chance to fly high and take in all of the breathtaking sights about land, or jetting across the ocean with the waverunners.
