The Emerald Coast is one of the best places to spend your friend or family vacation all year around, but spending your time down on the coast during the Holiday season can be absolutely magical. Whether your in one of the magnificent beach front condominium complexes in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach, Alabama, or your in a luxurious beach house or townhome on the Destin and Panama City Beach, Florida side of things, there are plenty of opportunities to make those Holiday memories with your friends and family. Starting back around Thanksgiving and lasting all the way until the New Year, there are so many festive activities and different engagements that the whole family can partake in.

Gulf Shores and Orange Beach have the go-to holiday activities when staying in Alabama this time of year. Now until January 14th, there will be ice-skating available at The Wharf located in Orange Beach.  Staying closer to the Gulf Shores area? Take the kids to Breakfast with Santa at the Erie H. Meyer Civic Center this Saturday, December 15th! Fulfill everyone’s cravings with sausage, bacon eggs and pancakes while the kids get 1 last chance to fill Santa in on what they are wishing for this Christmas.

The Florida side of the Emerald Coast has those ‘must do’ Holiday activities as well! From December 5th- December 22nd the whole family can enjoy a festive light show at The Village of Baytowne Wharf! Every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday there are 3 sparkling shows that take pace at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm that will light up your night, and just possibly your whole vacation! Travel just a few miles down the road to 30A South Walton for the Festival of Trees that’s held in Grand Park! These highly decorated trees come from twelve local non-profits and stay in the park through Christmas day. Not only do you get to lay eyes on these jaw dropping trees, but it also gives you a chance to give you a more in depth understanding of what these organizations do for the community and the entire Emerald Coast. In the little town of Pensacola, Florida is one of the biggest excitements every kid looks forward to this time of year. Make your stop at Henny Penny’s on December 23rd to enjoy the infamous story of “The Polar Express”, read by yours truly, Santa Clause! Let the kids stay snuggled in their pajamas while they cozy on up to the fire with some milk and cookies and watch their eyes light up with imagination. This will surely be a night they’ll never forget.
