Meet & Contact Vicki Vanderpool

I was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, but my second home has always been Panama City Beach. My love for PCB began as a young child when my family (including extended family) would visit on an annual basis. It was not unusual for my extended family (grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins) to go back to Nashville after a normal vacation of a week or two, while my mom, dad, sister and I would stay behind until my dad ran out of excuses to stay (there were a few times we HAD to leave because my sister and I had to be back for the first day of school!) We usually camped at St. Andrews State Park (my dad said we could stay longer if we camped because it was cheaper!) where we had days filled with hanging at the beach, crabbing off the pier, and our daily afternoon trip to the marina to see what the fishing boats had brought in. We were on a first name basis with several of the captains and first mates. We were like "locals", but I didn't realize how fortunate I was to live this life until I was an adult and on my own. The long summer trips were gone! I had to learn to do the normal tourist one week vacation, and although it wasn't the same, I discovered I could continue to visit and do it several times a year to help satisfy my PCB need.

Time moves on... Since those days, my mother and father have both passed, along with several of my extended family. My sister is married with three grown children, and I have an adult son who obtained his love for the water honestly from his granddaddy. I've always held my PCB memories close to my heart, and anyone who knows me well has heard me say "I'll be back" and become a "local" again!  And here I am.....
