Dunes Beach Retreat, Fort Morgan, Alabama Vacation Rental by Owner

What a lovely, comfortable & clean place to stay. This was my 3rd stay at Dianne’s home — I highly recommend it. Views of the beach & ocean are fantastic, & it’s not a crowded beach area. The condo is beautifully decorated with plenty of room for everyone’s belongings. There were hangers in the closets, lots of drawer space, & the beds gave us a good night’s sleep. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner & had what we needed to serve & cook the turkey & the side dishes. The oven cooked evenly & all the food came out perfectly cooked. There were 4 of us family members — 2 senior citizens, my daughter, & my teenaged grandson. The abundance of supplies (paper towels, etc) was an extra plus. The family enjoyed watching the football games on the living room TV. The layout of the living/dining room is thoughtfully arranged which makes the living area quite spacious with plenty of sitting area for everyone. There is even a desk area which my daughter used to get some Christmas calendar creating finished on her computer. We relaxed in the pool & the hot tub on-site too. Great shopping in the Gulf Shores & Foley area & we took advantage of it. We had lunch at the Copper Kettle Tea Bar in Foley & the food was delicious. Two family members had the High Tea — lots of food & brewed loose leaf hot tea—best ever! Many thanks to Dianne for sharing her home with us — we felt blessed to be there. We hope to return in the future.

We stayed at Dunes Beach Retreat the month of February, 2023. The condo is nicely furnished with a well stocked kitchen and all the extras were great. Wonderful views. We did have some construction going on during our stay but Diane told us about it ahead of time. Diane communicates very well and quickly answered any questions that we had. We very much appreciated that Diane and Tom gave us their opportunity to stay in their condo.

We just finished a week at the Dunes. We booked the 2nd visit because we liked the first one so much. We went to the beach, the pool and the hot tub every day. Our grandson had a blast at the Dunes. We rode the ferry, visited the shops in Gulf Shores ate at Lulu's and Mo's BBQ. Both Gluten Free places - good food great service. The condo has all the utensils,pots,pans and tableware you need. Appliances top notch. Washer\dryer good to have, beds were comfy and I want that cabinet in the entry way when they redecorate. Beach themed decor and a great view of the beach and the bay. We watched many ships come and go in Mobile Bay from the two balconies. Sunsets were beautiful from beach and the those balconies. We would visit again without hesitation. Thanks for sharing your beach home with us again.

Our first snobird getaway from Jan thru Feb 2022 has been absolutely fantastic.

It is the nicest beach home we have stayed in gulf shores region last 20 years.

This is truly a 'Dune Resort' which has every accommodation you will need for one week or three months to enjoy this beautiful beach home. It is so clean and comfortable

We had a great location to watch the dolphins from balcony or relax on the beach.

It was a 'WOW' experience.

This condo was equipped with everything you would ever need. Beautifully decorated and a beautiful view. It is truly a "BEACH" vacation even though you could be in Gulf Shores within 20 minutes. Tacky Jacks was our go to for supper and a pizza from Sassy Bass. The ride to Dauphin Island on the ferry is about a mile away. Dianne is an amazing host and is there for you if needed. We will definitely be back.

My family stayed here for spring break this year , and we were completely happy with this amazing condo. From the minute we got there we were 100 % happy and content with our choice . The area was amazing, the view was fantastic, and there wasn't one single thing we needed that wasn't available . The layout of the condo was great, the kitchen was perfect. Yes! This is a lovely condo! Everything is so clean & nice. The kitchen is the best stocked kitchen I have ever seen. That is especially helpful for me since I have to cook everything I eat due to my food sensitivities. The beds are comfortable. The furniture is placed in a way that really makes the unit feel extra large & roomy. The amount of supplies you have is incredible. We’ve rented vacation homes throughout the country & have never seen this much generosity with supplies. The location of the condo is terrific. The views are stunning. It is a wonderful place to walk as well. Quiet & peaceful despite the fact that construction is ongoing. We like that you also have some pictures of your family in the condo. This is our second visit to this wonderful condo with our family, and we simply love it! Our party includes my husband and I, my 20 something son, and my thirtysomething daughter, her husband, and their young son. We all enjoy the more quiet section of beach here at Fort Morgan! You can literally walk in one direction, and never see a single soul. We enjoy the local restaurants on Fort Morgan, and only drove back into Gulf Shores twice during our week’s stay. And this condo is simply amazing! We’ve never stayed in a nicer unit than this! Everything in the unit is top notch, clean, well organized, and well-equipped. It is spacious, and has plenty of room for adults and children as well. The views from the unit are amazing! One evening, we literally watched a carnival cruise ship in Mobile Bay make its way out into the ocean! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful unit with our families!

I have stayed here for the past four years with three of my high school girlfriends. It’s become a tradition. This condo is perfect! It’s spacious, very clean and has all the amenities you would need. The owners are great to leave the little extras that you would need on your trip. The beach is less crowded, so we definitely enjoy our time out by the water. We look forward to staying here again next year.

I absolutely cannot day enough about what a pleasure it is to stay at your place Diane. The accommodations are beautiful and so comfortable and clean. I love, love, love to cook in your kitchen. Everything is at your fingertips, available when and where needed, and very clean! There is plenty of space for our group and plenty of entertainment options as well. We always have a relaxing and rejuvenating time. Thank you for your hospitality year after year.

My husband and I had a wonderful family vacation with our 8 year old and 1 year old along with his parents. We have always stayed in Gulf Shores or Orange Beach so this was our first time being in Fort Morgan. I can honestly say that we fell completely in love with it. Mrs. Dianne is amazing to work with I could not of asked for a better person to rent from. She answered so many of my questions and provided so much information to us. We communicated via email and even talked the phone as well. When we were down Barry was actually blowing ashore and she took time out of her day to call to make sure that we knew what was going on and emailed me to make sure that we were aware that there were double red flags. What other owner do you know would do that? The condo is amazing it really truly is a second home. It was definitely enough space for all six of us. They provide things that you don't even think about bringing. We truly enjoyed ourselves and we didn't want to leave. We can't wait to come back. We hope to book this condo again in the future. Bright, roomy, and location, location, location! We liked being out of the hustle/bustle of tourist crowds. But close enough for a short drive to town for shopping or dining out. Slept in late, sat out on either balcony most all of every morning for breakfast. . Listening to the ocean, watching the waves and relaxing. Kitchen fully stocked with everything you could want - major brand name utensils and appliances. The condo was very clean! The furnishings comfortable and we really liked the artwork and beach decorations. I want a dresser just like the one in the entry. Easy walk to beach for sunrise and sunsets. 2 pools and hot tubs, mini gym for use.
We liked staying here, would return without hesitation. Friendly neighbors/guests. Good parking. Easy access to ferry, the drive to Gulf shores, about 20 miles. Good bike lane on highway. Tacky Jacks good for burgers and right across street. Imagine yourself sitting on the balcony, watching sunset and sharing great dinner of locally caught fish. This is the place! My family and friends enjoyed a wonderful week in the condo! There were 3 adults and 3 kids and we had plenty of room and it was very comfortable. We enjoyed all the upgraded amenities and complimentary toiletries. We also enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pool and just a short walk to the beach. Amazing views from each balcony. We will definitely stay again!

We LOVE the Dunes Beach Retreat! We have been here multiple times, and will definitely be back. Ample room for our family of 6! Hosts provide lots of good information and have excellent communication. We had everything we needed while we were there. The beach is quiet, and plenty of room on the beach to set up your tent for the duration of your stay. Beautiful white sand just steps away from your unit. Our kids also loved the pool (even with an indoor option if you want). You need to stay here!

Our family of 4 had a fabulous time at this gorgeous 3 bedroom condo overlooking the Gulf and the bay in private Fort Morgan, Alabama. We even got to see the Blue Angels fly RIGHT from our balcony! This condo has everything you need for a fun & relaxing family vacation. It is beautifully decorated as well. The pools are clean as well as the white sand beach. If we go back to the Gulf Shores area, we would definitely rent this condo again. The owners were VERY easy to work with and made the rental part so easy. We hope to be back someday!

My two high school friends (from many years ago) and I decided to take a trip to the beach to be able to catch up and relax with one another. We left home 8 kids between the 3 of us and had an absolute blast! The condo is very well equipped and is decorated beautiful. Our family went to Gulf Shores for the first time this past July. In searching probably 100 properties over the course of a few months planning for our trip, I kept coming back to this location. We needed plenty of space for my family of 4 plus my in-laws and we weren't looking to stay an entire week. This property was the most reasonably priced, it didn't require a 7 day stay like most places, and it seemed like a great location. Since it was our first trip to Gulf Shores, I really had no idea what to expect. It ended up being the perfect spot for our family. The condo was beautiful, extremely clean, and well taken care of. It really felt like a home away from home. We were far enough down the peninsula that it felt like a secluded, secret place. Our family was able to set up on the beach (which was a short walk away) and leave our canopy up on the beach during our entire stay, feeling that it was completely safe. We were surrounded by other families and the beach wasn't overcrowded. It was perfect for my 5 year old and 2 year old to play in the sand and wade in the waves. The pool was also a great amenity. The condos are right by the Ft. Morgan ferry so we used that to do things across the bay as well as cutting off drive time on the way home back to Texas. Dianne was also such a friendly owner, providing lots of tips and suggestions for our stay that I otherwise would not have known about. It felt like I was talking to a friend when we spoke. She was great! Everyone in the family had such a wonderful and memorable time. I can't wait to go back and would recommend this property to anyone traveling to the Gulf Shores area.

My wife and I want to personally thank Tom and Dianne Walters for allowing us to share their beautiful Gulf Shores condo the past two winters. Their condo at the Dunes has become a second home for us. We never get tired of watching the ships coming into and out of Mobile Bay, or of the fantastic sunsets from the balcony. Each year the Walter's have consistently upgraded the furniture, appliances, counter tops and fixtures throughout the unit. The condo sits on the corner of the fifth floor, giving gorgeous views of the Gulf and of Mobile Bay. It over looks part of the Bon Secour Wildlife Sanctuary where birds can be heard singing, and you're within walking distance to historic Fort Morgan. The miles of sugar sand beach allows for endless walks, fishing from the shore, searching for the perfect sea shell, or just sitting in the sun watching and listening to the waves. We will be returning once again next January, and highly recommend to anyone seeking to find a relaxing get away, in a very well equipped and wonderfully maintained condo, away from the crowds found in town, and supported by owners who want to make sure that everything is right for their guests, to contact the Walters.

My husband, 2 children, and friend couple stayed at this condo on July 5-12. It was such a sweet home away from home! The homeowners were very helpful from trouble-shooting my ignorance to offering suggestions for restaurants and fresh seafood. The condo was very roomy even for 6 people (2 of whom were pregnant) and had every possible essential for kitchen items. The furniture was so comfy and really felt like a home away from home.

We could not have been happier with our vacation condo. Everything about it was just as it was described. We fell in love with the view from the balcony, the fresh breezes from the ocean, the beautiful décor, and the overall cleanliness of the condo. We felt pampered and comfortable staying here. The owners provided a book with restaurant advertisements for us to pick places to eat and attractions to visit during our stay. All the amenities provided were outstanding including the internet access. We walked to the beach daily and enjoyed the pool too. There is no way anyone could say anything negative about this unit. We are eagerly looking forward to coming back next year.

My family and I could not have been more pleased with The Dunes. Beautiful rooms, with wonderful views out of every window. Was able to fix meals with the fully equipped kitchen. The kids (age 12 & 13) loved the indoor/outdoor pool. It was so relaxing and felt like home... It was so peaceful and quiet but yet not to far away from all the fun, food, and shopping. Best vacation we have had!! And can't wait to do it again. We didn't want to leave. Missing the view from master bedroom...

Beautifully decorated with plenty of space. Very clean and many supplies and amenities that made the stay a breeze. Dianne was very helpful and easy to talk to -- more like working with a friend. Wonderful views!. Dianne was able to recommend a chair and tent rental company. The decor throughout was cheerful and tastefully done. We stayed here with five adults and had plenty of room. We would recommend this rental to anyone looking for great comfortable place to stay.

This condo is fantastic! We took our three children (ages 9, 6, and 3) to stay at the Dunes Beach Retreat, and we had a great time. Pick up your groceries on the way in, and you can stay here for the entire week and never leave. All items you would ever need stocked in the kitchen for cooking and grilling. The beds are comfortable, and so nice to have three bedrooms so you can spread out!!
The view from the condo is beautiful, and we enjoyed waking up in the morning looking out on the separate master bedroom balcony watching the waves roll in. It is a short walk to the white sand beaches, and the best thing is how open the beach is. Never a problem getting a spot right by the water, and we left our stuff down there while we went back up to the condo to eat lunch or rest.
Please check this place out...you will not be disappointed. The owners are great to work with, the communication and availability for questions is second to none.

My family and I just got back from a wonderful week staying at this condo. We have stayed at many condos but none compare to this one. It is beautiful inside and outside. Dianne was wonderful to work with before and during our stay. We are counting the days until we get to come back.
