The Sand Dollar Cottage, 30A-Beaches-South Walton, Florida Vacation Rental by Owner

You will never want to leave this home! I’ve been blessed to stay here twice, once on a girl's trip and another on a family vacation with my hubby and two boys… and it was perfect for both scenarios. This beautifully remodeled home instantly makes you feel at peace. Its clean, white, straight-from-a-magazine beach decor allowed me to transition into vacation mode as soon as I walked into the house. It is in a quaint cul-de-sac with quiet streets and two swimming pools to relax if your toes aren’t in the sand at the beach. There was plenty of room for everyone to retreat, with four bedrooms and three full bathrooms. It was fully-equip with everything you need to relax inside or for any outdoor adventures, including the four bikes. The kitchen has everything you need to make a gourmet meal, but if the chef wants off, you are just a walk or bike ride away from some of the best restaurants & bars. And the beach is just a quick walk across the street for all-day play or catching the fantastic sunrise or sunsets.

We stayed here in February in the winter to get some sunshine! First of all the neighborhood is charming. I love the feel of the place. The decor makes you feel like you are at the beach--it's white and airy and stylish. One thing I liked so much is the bedroom / bathroom situation. The bedrooms are comfortable and there is a bunk room with lots of beds. There were comfortable beds for everyone. There were plenty of bathrooms for showers and getting ready. The area is beautiful with lots of great restaurants and a walk/bike trail that you can ride out of the neighborhood. We will definitely be staying here again!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay and vacation time!!! This home was the perfect place, if you’re looking for a family getaway this is the place. The home is so beautifully decorated and truly is such a restorative and refreshing to be there. So much natural light and all the appliances are great, we had everything we needed. Very safe neighborhood & gated entrance. Loved using the bikes to bike 30A as well as getting to the beach - about a 3-5 min bike ride or an 8 minute walk to local beaches! So close! And the hosts are incredible, so attentive and accommodating. Couldn’t recommend it any higher! So thankful for this treasured time in this home and all the memories made.

What an absolutely phenomenal vacation home. Everything you need for great family fun, sand and sun. Just add your favorite people, food and beverages with a liberal slather of sunscreen. We had everything we needed in the very well stocked kitchen to cook each night. My 3 girls are older so they and their boyfriends got together and planned out menus and each team cooked 2 nights. Lots of bath towels in the 3 spacious bathrooms for all that long hair. Umbrellas, sand toys, beach chairs and 2 great wagons to take it all to the beach, a short 5 or 6 minute walk away for the public access. 2 neighborhood pools with one just 3 doors down just around the curve into the neighborhood. Several restaurants, shops and ice cream stores within easy walking distance. Sara was a dream to work with and was a wonderful hostess for the Sand Dollar Cottage. You will not be disappointed. I highly recommend you book your next getaway with Sara.

Our family could not be happier that we chose the Sand Dollar Cottage for our annual 30A beach vacation. The house was very clean, and had every thing we needed to feel right at home for the week. We just spent 8 days in Santa Rosa, Florida and stayed at The Sand Dollar Cottage - Old Florida Village. I can’t imagine an easier reservation! The owner was extremely polite, quick to respond and delivered on all that was promised. The house was very clean, everything was just as described and I would not hesitate to use again! It’s so nice for a vacation to work out as planned. I highly recommend Santa Rosa beach and The Sand Dollar Cottage where 30A begins! Absolutely less crowded, less hectic, less people and my daughters and friends had a fabulous time! Cheers to a great getaway! Thank you, Sara for being an awesome owner!

Quiet gated community that is close enough to businesses that we did not have to drive to eat out for any meals. It was not a 10 min walk to any of the shops or restaurants we visited. All delicious. All appear owned by locals and not crowded like the restaurants we have walked to while renting in the larger developments. No such overcrowding issues on this part of 30A (yet). Walking to the beach was similar to our experiences in Rosemary and Seacrest and Seaside. Actually, the 7 min walk was better than some of those experiences at the large resorts. The difference on this trip was the absence of rows of beach chairs set up early in the day by the beach service professionals. At those larger resorts we have had the pleasure of sitting in expensive rented chairs on the 3rd or 4th row from the beach. Then at about 4pm they start walking around telling you to be ready to go soon. Too bad because by taking your own chairs you can enjoy the best part of a beautiful day at the beach as the sun sets. The home appears to be decorated by a professional. As mentioned by other reviewers, this is a spotlessly clean rental. The provided beach chairs and umbrellas and wagon and bikes are a huge benefit as those amenities can cost the average small family hundreds of dollars in rental fees for a week. Owners actually seemed happy to talk to us which is such a treat after dealing with management companies along 30A in the past. We've visited 30A probably 20 times in 20 years and have rented in several of the well known areas both on the water and north of 30A. This is our favorite rental so far but hopefully you won't come here so we will be able to book it in the future (Rosemary was pleasant back in 2006).

If you’re looking for an amazing vacation, this is the house to stay at. You are in walking distance to the beach, wonderful restaurants, fishing opportunities, local crafts, walking trails, swimming pools. With everything within walking distance; our family considers that’s huge perk! The house is equipped with everything that you could possibly need in the kitchen.The bedrooms are spacious, mattresses are extremely comfortable, the entire house is exquisitely decorated and the house is immaculate. Offering outside decks on two of the bedrooms and the front area provide plenty of extra space for relaxing or reading. They also provide all of your beach needs chairs, toys for children ,umbrellas ,coolers , even bicycles so you’re not incurring any additional expenses. This private gated community ensures privacy and provides first class amenities. For those who want to venture out 30 A offers many opportunities for quaint areas or superb dining and shopping. The owners are accessible for any information, or concerns you may have. I rate this rental as a “10”. We thoroughly enjoyed our week! I highly recommended this house for a memorable vacation! Don’t forget your camera at sunset! It’s magical !

Recently renovated cottage close to everything. Walk to the beach, restaurants, or the pool. Located in a gated community with lots of character. Home is outfitted with all of the amenities needed to enjoy all 30A has to offer...chairs, bikes, grill, cooler, beach wagon, beach toys...everything! Owners are first-class...many thanks for the unforgettable family memories made. We’ll definitely be back!

We had the best time at the Sand Dollar Cottage! Besides being so close to everything (pool, beach, restaurants, ice cream, etc) it was so peaceful and quiet. I didn’t expect this from a property off 30A. Other areas are just way too busy for me for a relaxing vacation. The newly renovated cottage also made time spent indoors very tranquil. My wife wants the owners to redecorate our home after spending the week there. Speaking of owners, they are very easy to work with and informative. They even have supplied bikes and beach gear at no extra costs, what a great value not having to rent them when I arrived and more importantly, not having to haul bikes, beach chairs, beach toys, & boards. This was an added bonus I didn’t realize before. I can’t wait to go back!

Good location. Peaceful house with nice amenities. The beach access is a 5 minute walk and renting a golf cart made the the shirt walk even easier. Didn’t try the pool as the beach was so nice but it looked quite nice. Several places in that area rent chairs and umbrellas I would suggest using beachchairs4U.com as they were half as much as two others in the exact same area. The owner was very responsive and there was a lot included with the rental we didn’t even use but you may such as bikes.

"Location, Location, Location! This home has so many wonderful amenities that we have chosen to return again for Thanksgiving. It was spotlessly cleaned and the condition of the house has been kept up to high standards.  We enjoyed the new upscale interior and appreciate the master being opposite the guest rooms.  The home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms which has been a real plus.  The pool is half a block away and the beach is a short walk across the street. Everyone in our family enjoyed the fabulous location for walking to the beach and visiting the many shops and restaurants. Being close to Longleaf Trail Head has been an added bonus for our morning bike rides.  Owners are a breeze to work with and the sunsets aren't bad either.
