Hakuna Matata, Beachfront Home, St George Island, Florida Vacation Rental by Owner

We returned to St. George Island after a 10-year hiatus. This house was the perfect choice - the location was ideal and it was spacious, well-outfitted, and quiet. We've never seen so many dolphins in the water, and our view from the front porch couldn't have been better. Thankfully, St. George Island hasn't changed in the last 10 years. Being at Hakuna Matata made it even more memorable. The only thing we would have changed is to have stayed longer!

This is a beautifully appointed home, well maintained and thoughtfully and completely outfitted for your family vacation. Owners quickly responsive to any questions. The kitchen is equipped to handle any cooking desired. Beautiful views with roll out of bed beach access. Comfortable beds - all our group commented how well they slept. 360 degree porch with Adirondack chairs and hammock to relax and watch the dolphin. Two outside showers to de-sand on the way back inside. We didn’t want to leave and definitely would recommend. We will be coming back. Also has a great library and games, but we were too busy playing on the beach.

Great floor plan for our group of nine. Located close to the center of the island, so the teenagers could hop on bikes and go get food, ice cream, shop, etc. Pleased to find beach chairs, boogie boards and hammocks for our use. Only minor complaint was the number of towels in the bathrooms. Kitchen had everything we could possibly need. We had one of our best family vacations ever. Highly recommend Hakuna Matata!

This beautiful home was perfect for our family! The owners were very helpful and easy to work with. We loved the location. In 35 years of visiting the island, this kitchen was the most well stocked of all the houses we have stayed in. We had an absolutely fabulous trip!

Hakuna Matata was the perfect house and perfect location on St. George for our couples/friends weekend! Just steps to the beach, great porch for relaxing and dolphin watching, and plenty of space for five couples. The kitchen had everything we needed and plenty of sitting space in the dining and kitchen areas. We played in the surf, walked the beach, sat on the shore, relaxed on the hammocks and chairs on the porch, and rode bikes. We love St. George and we love this house!!

We enjoyed our time at this beautiful house on St. George Island. Family reunion in a house large enough for all to be comfortable and just steps from the water.

This is my favorite vacation home ever! The house is awesome, the beach is grand and the owner was extremely accommodating. We had the time of our lives! We are going to try to get this property on a yearly basis!

The owners strive to have our vacation stay rejuvenating and relaxing all at the same time. The home is very accommodating and spacious, we had everything we needed at our disposal. Add in an incredible beach, glorious sunrises and sunsets, and amazing star viewings, memories are made here. Definitely hope to return to Hakuna Matata!

Hakuna Matata is a wonderful home-away-from-home place to stay!! So much space, we weren't tripping over each other. Loved the pocket doors to block off a sleeping area so one could wake up and move around without waking others. The beach view can't be beat! Loved watching the dolphins from the porch while enjoying a wonderful breeze! I will be back!

My friends and I stay here every year to get away from it all. We have such a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and has ample space for all of us. We are never in need of anything and enjoy ourselves immensely. You should try it!

Marvelous house, right on the beach, we had barbecues, fireworks, and a bonfire. The house is gorgeous and the Master bedroom's balcony is the place to be to see the most beautiful sunrises ever! I highly recommend this property.

Hakuna Matata is the ultimate laid back beach house. Large, spacious....lotsa elbow room....best back porch ever...stargazing....milky way...kids loved the hammock...beach fire??? Try that in Destin...fresh fish grilled at the beach...surf fishing...fried shrimp on the back porch...white sand clear water....chillin all day....tired children...happy wife!
