Perfection - if you're wondering where to book, choose this!!    Sep 02, 2019

The condo far exceeded our expectations in location, space, comfort, cleanliness, amenities and more! This was our first trip to Cape San Blas and I spent a good amount of time researching places to rent - I cannot recommend Wendy's property enough!! My husband and I are in our mid 30's and brought our 2-year-old labradoodle for her 1st visit to the ocean - it was a 9 hour trip from Nashville, and as we rounded the bend to the Cape and saw the houses and water - we were immediately hooked.

The directions to the condo were easy to follow, the keypad made entrance easy, and we were surprised at how spacious it was! Here are a few highlights: - You can't be much closer to the beach than if you were right on top of the waves. Just steps from the door and you're at the pool or on the sand. - The beach itself is PERFECT - you're at the northern part of the cape and each day we walked a little to the left and had the entire space to ourselves - day and night. The views, the sand, the water, the sunsets are just perfect. - I visited the pool just once in the late afternoon to read and it's beautiful and comfortable overlooking the ocean. - We were able to find "tradin post" market for beer, wine, and a last-minute pizza for dinner one night. We also bought food there to cook, and went to Cone Heads for drinks and food several times - it's right across the street from the condo area! - One day we went to the state park just to the left of the condo entrance and rented a canoe to roam around the crystal clear waters. Another day we drove to the tip of the cape and hiked to the abandoned shrimp boat, where we watched a fisherman bring in a shark and release it.

The entire trip was spent relaxing - we swam, caught 10+ crabs with the nets, explored the Cape and started planning our next trip. The deck on the condo is perfect for pre-sunset dinner - and the star-watching and sunsets on the beach are incredible!   Bring plenty of sunscreen, a beach blanket or two, a beach umbrella and you're set!

GREAT PLACE TO GET AWAY!    Jul 31, 2019

We weren’t sure how the Cape faired after the hurricane last year. I can tell you, they have done an amazing job on the entire cape. The beach is just beautiful! We were lucky in that the weather was a couple of degrees cooler for us. The water is so clear we could watch the little fish and crabs swim around. My Labrador tried his hardest to catch them. So did the 11 year old boy we brought with us. Everyone on the beach is so friendly. A couple of men actually played frisbee with my dog. That was a first for us! I didn’t know he could catch a frisbees from the air! We stayed so close to the beach we could hear the waves rolling in at night. Maybe next year we can stay a little longer.

Wendy Jackson's reply:

The Cape has recovered wonderfully and it's great to have folks back enjoying the beautiful beaches. Also great to have our 4-legged guests back too. So glad you enjoyed your time and your pup had fun too! Hope to hear from you again when you and your lab are ready to come back again! Wendy Jackson

Lovely 2 week stay at Sea Breeze    Jul 20, 2019

Our stay at Sea Breeze was wonderful. It is a very clean unit with cheery beach decor. Comfortable furnishings and a well stocked kitchen made our stay feel like home. We enjoyed using the outdoor grill and loved using the poker set and glancing through the guest books. Wendy was very easy to work with. She responded quickly to phone calls, emails and texts as we were planning our trip, during our stay and even after we got home. Highly recommend this unit and Wendy.

Wendy Jackson's reply:

I'm so glad you enjoy your time & all the great amenities at Sea Breeze! I look forward to having you back again. Wendy

Great home and Barrier Dunes is a great community!    Mar 02, 2019

This was our first year staying at Barrier Dunes #52 and we enjoyed it so much we've already made a reservation for next year! We had easy access to the beach and it was a beautiful community (pool, tennis courts, etc.). We enjoyed walking around and our dog enjoyed making furry friends. The unit was comfortable and Wendy thought of everything for a "home away from home." Already looking forward to our next stay!

Beautiful Memories & Best Vacation!    Aug 06, 2018

We made some beautiful memories during our stay at Cape San Blas.

This was our first trip to your beautiful beach. We brought our neighbor friend who got to celebrate his 11th birthday there. He said he “had the best vacation” ever. We also had our dogs - first beach trip for them.

All of us enjoyed our trip! You provided us with everything we needed to have a perfect time away from home. We’ll be back!

Enjoyed our week at Cape San Blas & Sea Breeze! We will be back!    Apr 14, 2018

I just wanted to let you know how much my husband Chester and I and our two dogs Maya and Heidi enjoyed the week in Sea Breeze - Barrier Dunes 52.  It was so well equipped, Chester especially was happy about the spice rack.  He loves to cook.

We definitely want to come back, probably in November.

Thank you for being cooperative and so concerned about our well being.

Until later this year, Chester and Gerda

The Condo was lovely and clean, and location was perfect for us.    Apr 07, 2018

We had a most wonderful vacation! The Condo was lovely and clean, and location was perfect for us. Thank you for the pictures of William. My sons loved playing with him, what a sweet family!!!

Our condo was sited ride next to the ‘Turtle pond’.   Multiple times a day we’d go with our youngest to visit all the turtles and watch them-so fun!

We loved watching the sunset every night, we arranged our day and dinner hour to accommodate.

Walks on the beach every day were a blast.  We even met a new family from our hometown!

The beach was clean and we loved playing in the surf. We’d definitely return as it was a family friendly area.

Thank you again Wendy!

Second stay with Cape Escape. Clean & Well Maintained. Great service!    Feb 24, 2018

This was our second time staying at a Cape Escape home, and we can recommend the units without hesitation.  Although Sea Breeze is not beach front, it has a lovely view of the gulf (across the clubhouse pool) from the master bedroom.  The grounds are also lovely – nicely landscaped and thoughtfully laid out.  Access to the beach is amazingly easy, with a short walkway to the Gulf just outside the door.   The décor is tasteful--appropriately “beachy,” casual, and comfortable—and the kitchen is well-stocked with nice dishes, numerous small appliances, and a wide range of kitchen utensils.  The layout works well, and we were very comfortable.
A major factor in our strong recommendation of Cape Escape is the management.  The units are very clean and well maintained, and any problems are addressed without delay.  We had a problem with the water heater, and Wendy responded immediately with repairs and, ultimately, a replacement.  She bent over backwards to make sure that everything worked well and that any inconvenience was minimized.
The Barrier Dunes complex is very nice and definitely lives up to its reputation as being “pet friendly.”  Walking on the grounds or the beach is a great way to meet others.  Dog people tend to be friendly and outgoing!  We were especially impressed by the commitment of the dog owners to keeping the grounds and the beach clean.   They are diligent about picking up after their dogs, and the result is a very clean and lovely environment.
The beach is beautiful, with soft, white sand and gorgeous sunsets.  Our golden doodle, Dude, loved playing in the surf, and we walked with him along the beach for miles every day.  Our daughter and two of our grandchildren visited us for a long weekend, and they were thrilled with the sand and the waves (the sand toys in the beach cupboard are a nice touch!).   We capped off the weekend with a bonfire on the beach their last night.  They’ll not soon forget the evening, ghost stories and all.
There are plenty of outlets in the area for outdoor activities and good food.  We hiked in numerous wildlife preserves and parks, visited other beaches (including St. George Island, Mexico Beach and Port St. Joe) , and enjoyed great seafood and fun atmospheres in Apalachicola, Indian Head, and Port St. Joe.  It’s worth the trip to Apalachicola just to buy fresh seafood at 13 Mile Seafood on Water Street—the best!  In Apalachicola, we also enjoyed the oysters at Boss Oyster and the gelato at Apalachicola Chocolate and Coffee Company.  In Port St. Joe, we recommend Provisions and the Sunset Coastal Grill.  And you definitely need to hit the original Indian Pass Raw Bar for both the experience and the food.
Barrier Dunes is hard to beat.

This was our first visit to this part of Florida and we loved it & loved the home!    Nov 04, 2017

We want to thank you for sharing Cape Escape with us. We had a wonderful
month in # 52 Sea Breeze. It was equipped with everything that you could
possibly want. The kitchen has more dishes and more pots and pans than
I have at home.
This was our first visit to this part of Florida and we loved it. The weather
was beautiful the whole time we were there. We will be returning and now
we know to bring less stuff.  [😱]  The people and all the wonderful dogs were
great !!!! We love the quiet atmosphere and the greatest plus was being
able to bring our GUS ( Long coated shepherd )  [🐾] [🐾] [😀] .
Please keep us in mind when you have cancellations. Now that we are
both retired maybe we could sneak away on short notice.
Thank you for making things so easy,
        Bev and Larry Sutler
Gus boy also says thanks Wendy  [🐾] [❤] ️
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas !!!!

No crowds, no traffic, GREAT Home: One of the best vacations I’ve had    Jul 16, 2017

Thanks so much for following up with us!  We made it home safely and drew it out a little bit by stopping over just north of Birmingham.  It was just a wonderful vacation and we really couldn’t have asked for anything more.  The condo was so well equipped, more so than any other rental I’ve stayed at.  We brought beach gear with us but a lot of it stayed in the car.  There were plenty of chairs and toys and gear.  More than we could even use.  The inside was just as cute and clean in person as it was in the pictures.  Most nights we bought seafood and stayed in an cooked.

We highly recommend the Port St Joe Shrimp Co!  The kitchen is so well-equipped, the cookware was awesome.  There were enough plates to feed a small army, so I wasn’t always washing dishes.  It was a little rainy while we were there, but we still had plenty of time to spend at the beach.  We went into the Port St Joe Piggly Wiggly to get groceries, visited the Lighthouse, and drove through the quaint little downtown area.  We also drove down to Apalachicola one day.  Another neat little town with lots of fresh seafood restaurants.

Best of all, we relaxed and spent time playing on the beach and at the pool.  Our little girl and our furry boys loved it all!  My husband actually considered not having cell service to be a bonus feature!  The wi-fi worked great throughout the unit too.  Our daughter cried when we left and we honestly can’t wait to get back.  No crowds and no traffic make for one of the best vacations I’ve had.  All of our friends and family have asked us how we found it and they want to check it out now too!  Maybe we should have kept the secret to ourselves though!  Thanks again, Wendy and all the staff for such a great vacation.  Hope to get back your way sooner than later!

This townhouse was the best part of my trip!    Jan 01, 2017

This townhouse was the best part of my trip! I would love to bring the rest of my family there again sometime.
The best part was for me to play with my dog on the pet-friendly beach.
Everything in the home was perfect right down to the pet towels.

We really enjoyed our stay!    Oct 16, 2016

Thank you we really enjoyed our days there.  The place was very nice and we appreciated the clean appearance of the home.

We greatly enjoyed our trip    Oct 09, 2016

We arrived home safely and are recovering from vacation. We enjoyed our stay at Barrier Dunes. While we were there we took a sunset horseback ride with Two  Bit  Stables and enjoyed exploring the area. We visited Apalach and found it quaint while we were there we ate at the OWL restaurant food was excellent. We enjoyed the Indian Pass Raw Bar the baked oysters were superb and the steam shrimp was excellent. We ate at the Dockside Resturant twice and sat in their dog-friendly outside seating area.
