We survived Hurricane Michael!
Barrier Dunes is still standing! There is a lot to be done but we are, as a Barrier Dunes and Gulf County community, working hard and making things happen. The progress is moving MUCH faster than anyone could have imagined.
Part of our recovery will be YOU, our guests! The best thing you can do to support our recovery is to COME and enjoy our beautiful beaches, go to dinner and shop in this place so many wonderful folks call HOME and enjoy your vacation.
Folks in the area rely on YOU, our guests, to fully recover. This will allow businesses to stay open and folks to feed their families in Port St. Joe and help them rebuild their lives.

Turtle Crawl is wonderful. We will be back!    Apr 14, 2018

Our stay at Turtle Crawl was wonderful. The unit itself was beautiful, comfortable, and just a short walk to the beach. We loved the dog friendly location as well as all the amenities. The turtle filled lakes were beautiful. We definitely will be returning for another great vacation in the future.

191 Turtle Crawl is a beautiful home! Great amenities!    Mar 10, 2018

191 Turtle Crawl is a beautiful home.  It has all needed amenities and is excellently maintained.  The location is perfect.  Port St. Joe, St. Joe Peninsula State Park, Historic Apalachicola, and St. George Island are within close proximity.  Kayaking, shelling, hiking, bike rentals, and interesting shopping is nearby.
Thank you for all your help, Wendy.

Would definitely recommend Turtle Crawl and Cape San Blas!    Feb 17, 2018

We had a great time and definitely want to return to Cape San Blas again!! We especially appreciate you making your condo so pet friendly - having the pet sheets and towels were so helpful! We found everything to be absolutely perfect for our week of relaxation!

We will be giving your info to any friends who ask and will be in contact when we can “escape to the Cape”! Thank you for being so thorough with all the travel plans!!
We are missing that sunshine!

You truly made all the arrangements easy. The condo was clean & well stocked with the essentials    Dec 23, 2017

Thank you for the lovely, relaxing mini vacation on the “Forgotten Coast”.

We have lived in Florida 25 years & have never spent time there.  It was beautiful & quiet.

You truly made all the arrangements easy. The condo was clean & well stocked with the essentials. We hope to visit again soon.

I could not have asked for a better rental or experience.    Oct 12, 2017

I could not have asked for a better rental or experience.  It was absolutely beautiful and very relaxing.  It was so nice to have all the beach essentials available for us (beach chairs, cooler, toys, etc.).  We have already talked about trying to make it back again before the end of the year.  This will definitely be our new yearly vacation destination.  I work remote and am an introvert by nature.  I was pleasantly surprised by the comradery and friendliness of all of the other guests at the Barrier Dunes.  Added a whole new dimension by meeting others that also brought along their fur babies.

I appreciate the heads up about booking direct in the future.  (Also EXTREMELY helpful about the time zone fluctuations…BUT what was funny is we just quit paying attention to the time.  Having spotty cell coverage was also a blessing because my boss could not reach by cell on my vacation).

The directions, beach, and accommodations were perfect.    Aug 26, 2017

We had such a special stay!

Thank you for all the small touches to make things more convenient like kitchen and beach items and for your thoroughness and help.

We hope to be back very soon. The directions,  beach, and accommodations were perfect.

Thooroughly Enjoyed Turtle Crawl and our Mini-Vacation    Apr 12, 2017

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Turtle Crawl.  It’s such a “beachy” house and very relaxing.  We actually came there to ride out Hurricane Matthew.  What a blessing to have found your lovely house.  My sister was visiting from PA and really enjoyed her stay.  We loved being able to walk to the beach.  We ate at Sunset Coastal Grill the last night we were there.  The food was good and the view spectacular.

A little bit of history:  My husband’s great uncle, Ernest Marler, was the Asst. lighthouse keeper at Cape San Blas lighthouse and died in 1938 (he was actually murdered according to historical records, but it is still unknown who did it and why).  There is a book published called “Secrets of Cape San Blas!”  It’s based on Ernest Marler but fictional.  Very interesting read.  It’s a coincidence that the code was the same as the date he died.  Also, there was a picture of the lighthouse on the wall. And the master bedroom had a plaque with “Captain’s Quarters” on it.  My husband is a Captain, his father was a Captain and his grandfather was a Captain.  All from Destin, Fl.  My husband’s name is David Ernest Marler, named after his great uncle.  You can imagine our surprise when we arrived to find all of this.  It was like it was meant to be!

We would love to come back again when were not escaping storms and can take advantage of all that you have to offer.
Thank you for the short mini vacation in your beautiful house!

Condo was clean and well stocked. We had a GREAT time.    Jan 01, 2017

Amy, Lana, and I had a GREAT time at the beach in Turtle Crawl!  The weather was beautiful and the condo was clean and well stocked and furnished.  Thank you for your help in making last minute plans.  You are always easy to work with and I appreciate your helpfulness.

We found the unit, and everything in it, to be very clean, and very well supplied!    Dec 10, 2016

My wife, our dog, and I want to tell you how enjoyable our stay in your Unit 191 in December was.  When we arrived, we found the unit, and everything in it, to be very clean.  The unit was very well supplied with virtually anything a vacationer could need or want.
The beach was a short walk away and was also clean and wide.  We walked twice each day for at least an hour.  Our dog loved it, but refused to go into the ocean or even get his feet wet.

The time we spent in Unit 191 was the perfect relaxation for us and we hope to return next December.
