Part of our recovery will be YOU, our guests! The best thing you can do to support our recovery is to COME and enjoy our beautiful beaches, go to dinner and shop in this place so many wonderful folks call HOME and enjoy your vacation.

Welcome to beautiful Cape San Blas FL, located along Florida's Forgotten Coast in the Florida Panhandle--50 miles SE of Panama City between Mexico Beach & St. George Island and Apalachicola.  Our area is often called the "Forgotten Coast"....so much more peaceful than other areas on 30A!

Cape Escape 2 is an END UNIT, located directly on a freshwater fishing pond (can fish or feed the turtles FROM the back deck), & it's just 200 steps to the beach and about the same to the beachfront pool...the BEST of both worlds!

It has a King & Queen Bedroom both have en-suite full bathrooms and private decks. There is an additional half bath on the main floor. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room (complete w/laundry detergent we provide), & there is a  gas grill on the back deck. (we even thought of a backup gas tank in case the gas runs out).   All bedrooms have flat screen cable TVs and DVDs and the living room has a 50" cable TV with DVS.  SInce it's an end unit the window seat gives lots of extra light!

It is in beautiful, gated Barrier Dunes which is just steps from the entrance to St. Joseph State Park & its large variety of wildlife, Hiking, Biking, and over 16,000 acres of awesome 'Beachfront' wilderness surrounded on 3 sides by the Gulf of Mexico and St. Joe Bay.

We provide everything from beach chairs and linens to Wifi, right down to the little things like laundry detergent, trash bags and dish soap to make your packing easy and your stay relaxing!

Barrier Dunes has 2 pools (1 is gulf front & 2nd is heated 4 mo. a year), lighted tennis courts, 3 fresh water fishing ponds, playground, pet stations, boat parking, boat washing area,  and boardwalks throughout!

In the evening, sit on your deck and take in the awesome beauty of a moonlit night & stars larger & in more abundance than you've ever seen. No city lights or commercialism on the Cape!

You will always enjoy a wonderful family-friendly atmosphere in Barrier Dunes & on the Cape San Blas pet-friendly beaches--even during spring break/summer!

Regardless of the season, this is just the place to enjoy life and each other! Come enjoy our pristine, coastal paradise!

Deck Overlooking Fresh Water Fishing Lake: The deck includes chairs and end table. You can fish or feed the turtles in the freshwater pond without having to leave the deck.

** From comments in our guest book, you should bring an extra loaf of bread to feed the fish and turtles–this seems to be a hit with old & young alike! Bring your fishing rod too–fish FROM the back porch!

Covered parking: Under the vacation rental unit you will find covered parking for 2 cars or a car and a small boat. There is also a hot & cold shower for washing your sandy paws and toes, a hose for washing your boat or dog & a retractable clothes line for all those wet beach towels! Home was wonderful! We will be lifelong customers!    Oct 07, 2018

 Hi Wendy,
Just a quick note to again say Thank You for helping Me, Beverly, and Scuby have the best vacation we could ever imagine.

Your home was wonderful and the location was perfect. We played hard and relaxed just as hard. You have made lifelong customers of us. I’ll email you when we pick our dates for next year. When I get home  [😪]  and get my pictures from my camera to my computer I’ll post to the Facebook Page. Again, Thank You! [😊] [😊] [🐾] [🐾]

Great home and love the pond off back deck. Has everything!    Sep 04, 2018

We enjoyed our stay very much. The beach is a very short walk across the complex, and our kids loved having a pond right off the back deck where they could catch turtles and small fish. I personally loved having a carport with a hose where we could leave all our sandy stuff every day, rinse off and in general keep the mess out of the main living space. Very pleasant accommodations and a nice supply of beach chairs, toys and beach cart for guest use.

Cleanliness, Location, Amenities: Cape Escape II had it all! Will will be back!    Aug 01, 2018

Cleanliness, amenities & location were our top priorities!! This place has it all!! Condo is a short walk to pool and ocean. Condo itself was immaculate and well stocked. (Always bring extra toilet paper, soap & paper towels to condos). Very comfortable for all. Customer service was over the top excellent! Even a little thing like our wine opener broke and a new one was on our doorknob early the next day!! Thank you Wendy! And THANK YOU to the owners who take pride in offering all the extras!! It’s why we chose this particular condo!! We’ll be back!!

Loved, Loved, Loved it!    Jul 03, 2018

We had the best time!  Wendy you were so great communicating with us and gave us all the information we needed. The house had everything we needed. You and everyone we met while staying there were the absolute nicest people!  Our family and our dog just loved it!  It is such a relaxing environment between the kids riding bikes, catching fish and turtle watching at the lake, the beach and going horseback riding on the beach. We will definitely be coming back!

Our 2nd Trip to the Cape & Cape Escape II: Like it all, here are our favorites!    Mar 17, 2018

The thing we like most is the serenity of the area.  The beach is never crowded, and everybody is very friendly.  Being able to walk our dog on the beach is one of the main reasons for returning.  We also found Port St Joe and Apalachicola fun to explore.  I highly recommend the eco-tour of the Apalachicola River, lunch at the Owl Cafe, and a beer at the Oyster City Brewing Co.  Everybody should also experience the Indian Pass Raw Bar.
The next best thing for us is the availability of very fresh seafood.   We made numerous stops at the new St. Joe Shrimp Co. for shrimp, grouper and snapper, which we cooked on the grill and in the well-stocked kitchen.

There is so much to say about how much fun we had, how relaxed we were! The house is ADORABLE!    Dec 21, 2017

Our experience at Cape San Blas:
We now live in Savannah, GA, and we’ve lived on the east coast of Florida previously. Therefore decided to spent the Christmas holidays at The Cape Escape condos on a tiny north-south spit of land named Cape San Blas, west of Apalachicola, Florida came as a surprise to us & to our family & friends.  We wanted a quieter holiday this year.  We also wanted to be able to take our two miniature long-haired dachshunds. The location had to be on the water and it had to be within a day’s drive of our home.

Cape San Blas and Port St. Joe are small, quiet, unassuming areas.  The Cape is surrounded by the Gulf of Mexico and the St Joseph Bay. The area is called The Forgotten Coast.  It hasn’t yet been discovered, but we’re sure it will be soon. The beaches are wonderful. Since it was Christmastime, we weren’t swimming or doing any of the water activities, but we are returning to do so in March of this year.

Our condo was adorable, & it was even better than described.  We had two bedrooms & two and a 1/2 baths.  There was ample covered parking under our unit for two cars with space still available for the provided gas grill. The 1st floor’s kitchen was more than adequately supplied, right down to cocktail sauce cups & oyster knives.  There was seating at the kitchen bar for 2 & chairs at the table for 6. The living/family room had 2 large sofas & a TV in the corner with a sliding glass door that looked out to our small lagoon. Steps from that door lead down to the 1st floor, and at the top of the porch was a safety gate to keep in dogs and kids. The bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms were at the front and rear of the unit on the 2nd floor with a well-stocked linen closet & a washer and dryer between them.

We are pet lovers and as such, this was THE perfect place for us to be. We had to smile every day with the number & variety of dogs coming and going. ‘Dog Waste’  stations were everywhere with plenty of baggies provided both in the community & on the beach. On our 1st morning, as we were traipsing outdoors for the dogs’ first potty stop of the day, in the dark, with our flashlights, at 6 a.m., we were delighted to see that our dogs are not the only one with such Benjamin Franklin hours.  We ran into at least a half-dozen other humans taking their pets out for their absolutions.  "Good mornings," were said by all, & a few barks were sounded.
There are 2 pools in the complex & a couple of tennis courts. Fishing on the beach was a winner even when it was cold. In other weather, biking, kayaking, sailing, canoeing & other outdoor activities are available.  There is even a scallop season, & we learned how to remove the little fellows from their shells even if we couldn’t actually perform the task.

The restaurants were very casual.  At our time of the year, a few were closed, but they will be open in the Spring, we’re sure.  As almost all of the restaurants say, “The fish, shrimp & oysters were sleeping in the gulf or bay the previous night!” They were not kidding.  We purchased fresh tuna dip from the St. Joe Shrimp Company.  There are 2 now, one of the Cape & one nearer St. Joe. We also bought their fresh red snapper & flounder to cook at the condo…fresh, fresh, fresh.  Can’t be compared with store-bought fish at all. We were disappointed that we couldn’t get fresh raw oysters nearby, but we did learn that the little drive to Apalachicola would reward us with the little flavorful crustaceans.

There is so much to say about how much fun we had, how relaxed we were, how this place fulfilled our desires for a quiet Christmas. We would be more than happy to answer anyone’s questions about the area, the condos, the food, etc.  Working with Wendy Jackson was very, very easy.  She responded to every question, had suggestions for eating, playing, meeting, greeting, and just plain enjoying our “Cape Escape”.

Happy New Year, Wendy. Please give our regards to those folks who are able to spend more time there!  Lucky folks.

Thank you so much for ensuring the condo was clean and well stocked!    May 12, 2017

We had an amazing time at the Cape! The weather and beach were truly beautiful!

Thank you so much for ensuring the condo was clean and well stocked! We found it very easy to just arrive and start having fun!

We ate twice at Coneheads and found the hamburgers were delicious! Our 3 year old loved getting ice cream there and we would ride our bikes back and forth from the condo.  My husband and I are trying to find time to come back later in summer. Thanks for all your help making our vacation amazing!

Cape Escape II was wonderful!    Apr 15, 2017

Cape Escape II was wonderful!  We loved being right on the lake.  Being morning people, we would get up and watch the sunrise off the back deck.  Lots of turtles in the lake and we enjoyed feeding them.  They would anticipate us when we came out on the back deck and all start swimming over.   The home was beautifully decorated and we liked that it was an end unit.  It had everything you could imagine…we didn’t even get everything out of our car once we had a look around!  It was VERY clean, which we really appreciated!

We are so glad we found Cape San Blas for the 1st time.   The beaches are beautiful.  We have been going to Destin and loved the fact there were no crowds.  Restaurants were close and we enjoyed the convenience stores on the Cape when we needed something.

Thank you for answering all of our questions before our trip since we haven’t been to Cape San Blas before.  Once we arrived, the guest information book was VERY thorough and we enjoyed doing some of the things that were covered in the book.  Was nice to have all that information there and not have to research the area or do internet research.   We will definitely be back again!

We had such a great time!    Dec 25, 2016

We had such a great time at the Cape over Christmas!  This is our 4th Christmas coming down to the cape and the condo was one of the nicest we have stayed in!  The amenities were great and the furniture and beds were very comfortable!!  When we first walked into the condo it had such a nice and cozy feel to it.  It was clean and well taken care of.  The pond view was great and it was fun feeding the turtles off the deck.  It was also great that there was a boardwalk right across the street that took us directly to the beach!  The beach chairs and the beach cart were one of the best amenities that the condo had!!  It made taking everything we wanted to take down to the beach very easy!  It was also nice that the weather was beautiful while we were there.  We had almost two weeks of sunny and 70 degrees!  We had such a relaxing and fun time at the cape.  The next time we come down to the Cape, we will definitely be renting from you again!  Thank you for providing such a great place for us to enjoy our vacation at!

We had an absolutely wonderful time.    Aug 01, 2016

Thank you so much for all of your help in scheduling this trip!  We had an absolutely wonderful time.  The condo was so nice and clean, it had everything we could have asked for and it truly felt like home.  We were all really impressed with how lovely the condo and beach were.  The beach was fantastic, not too crowded and very pristine.  We enjoyed taking walks on the beach with the pups and shelling, along with just spending hours being lazy and watching the waves roll in while we relaxed on the beach.  To top of an incredible vacation, my sister and her boyfriend got engaged while we were there!  I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed ourselves and how nice the condo and area were.  We are already talking about booking with you again next year, hopefully for an even longer stay!!  I personally forgot to take pictures (I never remember to take pictures!) but I will check with everyone else and email you any pictures we have of the dogs enjoying the beach.   Thank you again for all of your help and hospitality!  I look forward to returning to the Cape soon!!
